Erika Kayne. Digital Collage

Ever since I was old enough to hold a pencil, I've been drawing.

I've always known that I wanted a career in the arts, and I've been pursuing such a career since day one. From elementary school art class to graduation from the Fashion Institute of Technology is New York City, art has been my passion.
When I first entered the illustration field, it was with only an associates' degree, two years of school and on-again off-again cheap commissions done online on deviantart. I currently have a BFA in Illustration, a minor in Film and Media, and I work as a freelancer in both illustration and concept art. I am currently contracted as the illustrator for The Orphan's Code book series, and have done character concepts for LucasArts and the Gothic Heroines podcast series. You can find my album artwork on several podcasts available on both iTunes, Google Play and Soundcloud, and I am writing a book that's due to be completed never because I write slowly, and I work full-time as a historian and museum educator for the Rockefellers.

I offer a full range of services as an artist. I can do full-page, fully-colored and rendered illustrations in varying degrees of photorealism, flat-colored cartoon images, album artwork for music and podcast, book covers and book illustrations (vignettes), character concepts and designs, concept art for background, color keys and wardrobe designs, and I am able to format my images to fit just about any media, including laying out the magazine or brochure pages myself, and arranging the type of a book cover. More info about my prices and how to order from me are on the Commissions page, and you can find examples of my work there as well as in my Gallery. [COMMISSIONS ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED AS OF 2022]
